Workstation role and effect

Crank Peel Machine introduces mechanical drum peeling through a hand-operated crank. Rather than slicing every peel strip with a knife blade, you load potatoes into the drum and work the crank to strip the skin.

Putting a peeling machine to work also opens the automation track on the Steam achievement board, starting with Industrial Revolution (Let the machines do the peeling, unlocked by 62.1% of players).

Cost tier and table position

Crank Peel Machine is listed at a printed cost of 20 (numeric value 20) in sequence row 4 of 9. It costs 8 units more than the Kitchen Table (12) at row 3 and sits one step before the jump to 280 for the motorized Auto Peel Machine at row 5.

Because row 5 costs fourteen times as much as row 4, the Crank Peel Machine serves as your primary drum across the early-to-mid shift.

Shift handling and hotfix notes

Hotfix 1.0.1 and Hotfix 1.0.2 refined how peeling machines and hoppers behave: cut potatoes no longer slip into the drum and instead roll back out of the hopper unpeeled, and players can no longer clip out of bounds through the output channel or wall fan.

When you pour a sack into a hopper, aim for the middle of the opening; if the machine is already full, the sack stays whole rather than spilling wasted potatoes across the floor.
