Whereas For the Motherland records unwavering compliance with bunker directives, Traitor marks the narrative branch where you defy station orders and have your service formally terminated.

In the board relation graph, Traitor bridges For the Motherland (25.5%, ACH_ENDING_MOTHERLAND) and The Last Harvest (22.7%, Every harvest must end, ACH_ENDING_LAST_HARVEST). Completing Traitor is also one of the required branches toward unlocking Every Path Has a Price (13.3%, ACH_ALL_ENDINGS).

When replaying to see alternative branches after unlocking Traitor, Hotfix 1.0.1 ensures that launching a New Game after an ending resets the shift state cleanly for your next run.
Hotfix 1.0.2 also fixed a bug where completing a task at the window could freeze character movement before the shift conclusion played out at the station.
