Hotfix 1.0.2 fixed the outdoor pile recount timer that tracks your remaining mountain: the recount starts only after you purchase the Claw Crane and runs every 6 minutes, or every 2.5 minutes with crane autopilot active, with the loudspeaker announcing every second recount.
Finishing the final potato also ties into the Master Peeler milestone, which Hotfix 1.0.2 patched so the reward completes properly and previously stuck saves recover on load.
